LOCKED UP TELEVISION

Any Makeke person reading this will laugh. Please do not laugh confirm the story.
The village was filled with jubilation when Television came into town.
Can't remember the exact year but one thing I do remember was that we all I mean the whole village assembled looking at the box, very strange box.
A hole was dug in the wall of a very large classroom. I still remember when I was in that class.
The hole was to be the new home for the box.
I was very young and so cannot or do not qualify to go watch TV every evening.
We sometimes sneak out but gaining entrance into that place was hell.
The gate fee was 1kobo. I can't remember. We sometimes stay outside and just enjoy the audio of the box in the hole.
The only time I watch TV was when our uncle comes back and starts to tell us the kind of movies he has watched. Plenty of children of my age and some older or younger listen with keen interest as we watch from the narration of our older ones.
The funny thing is that the way they will narrate the film, you will practically be seeing the action.
When I could no longer bear it, I begged my uncle, Late Brother as we used to call him. to please take me along with him. He agreed to do so on one condition. If I make a noise he will personally beat me up.
At the venue we queued up and as we get closer to the gate he sized and put me inside his agbada asking me to keep quiet and hold him fast.
The two of us became one so we entered with ease.
Inside was dark could hardly see anyone. As soon as he found a place to seat he dropped me on the ground. That is going to be my viewing point that day.
The movie started, I could not shout when others were shouting because my voice will betray me.
I did all my moves silently in my confounded position.
Well I enjoyed the show sha.
Today we get tired watching TV.
We have it everywhere.
Children have in their rooms.
even some Kitchens have plasma TV.
What a world.

Village style. na wa.
