Village Life PT 4

LOCKED UP TELEVISION Any Makeke person reading this will laugh. Please do not laugh confirm the story. The village was filled with jubilation when Television came into town. Can't remember the exact year but one thing I do remember was that we all I mean the whole village assembled looking at the box, very strange box. A hole was dug in the wall of a very large classroom. I still remember when I was in that class. The hole was to be the new home for the box. I was very young and so cannot or do not qualify to go watch TV every evening. We sometimes sneak out but gaining entrance into that place was hell. The gate fee was 1kobo. I can't remember. We sometimes stay outside and just enjoy the audio of the box in the hole. The only time I watch TV was when our uncle comes back and starts to tell us the kind of movies he has watched. Plenty of children of my age and some older or younger listen with keen interest as we watch from the narration of our older ones. The funn
